I asked my owner to remember me always, But not to grieve for me too long. In my life I have tried to be a comfort to him in times of sorrow And a reason for added joy in his life's happiness. One last request that I earnestly make is I ask him for love of me to have another. It would be a poor tribute to my memory To never have another dog. I would like to feel that once having known me He could not live without a dog.
Excerpts from The Last Will And Testament Of An Extremely Distinguished Dog by Eugene O'Neill

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshone, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress that beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from you heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

"Run like the wind... You're free"
He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion

Jolt (Rott Iron's High Voltage, CGC)

The Command Pawformance family lost one of its most dearly loved members this month. Many of you from day school will remember Jolt hanging out, strutting his stuff around the shop, helping us put the puppies through their paces, or putting on his most charming face in search of a treat. Jolt touched the lives of all his human companions, and acted as an understated and fair authority figure to his canine pals. We all have our favorite memories of Jolt and we will all treasure them. Our deepest sympathies go out to Marge and Tim, who gave a great dog the great life he deserved.

Memories of Jolt

Sean: My dog Bessie, also a Rottweiler, always had a respect for Jolt that she didn't have for other dogs. It may have had something to do with him being a Rottweiler, but I think it had more to do with him just being him. She deferred to him and always abided his authority. A few years ago, when she was in the hospital, and I was afraid she might not make it, being able to go to the shop and see Jolt, and give him a little hug, and remember how much Bessie thought of him, helped keep me going through a really tough time, and I'll never forget him for that. Thank you Jolt.

Lori: There are some dogs that I feel honored to know and Jolt was one of those dogs. He was the stately fellow in the room or at the woods that taught the other dogs who was boss and how to be polite. He graciously endured the exuberance of my lab, Bella, when we went on daily woods walks with him. My Rottweiler, Ripa was lucky enough to go on a woods run with her cousin Jolt and learn the rules of playing before he took his new job of overseeing us from the heavens; Surely he is shaking his head at the puppies who just don't get it. I will miss dear Jolt; he was my friend and introduced me to his great parents, Marge and Tim who I am also honored to know. I can only hope to be the caring dog parent to my dogs that they were to Jolt.

Peter: Jolt filled a void for me that Cain left, he seemed to understand that I was missing my dog He would come over to me and rest his head on my lap sort of saying "I understand". He always reminded me of Cain they both had many human like qualities. When I started working here getting to walk Jolt was sort of a privilege ,He was always so well behaved thanks to all the work his mom and dad did with him. It was always an easy walk with no problems. Jolt was unique, Jolt was the best , Jolt will be missed by all who knew him...
