Our goal is for every human and dog to achieve the best relationship possible. Training lays the groundwork for a lifetime relationship that is healthy and rewarding. We also want every dog to leave us happily obedient. We use a combination of positive reinforcement, food, praise, toys, and clicker training.

We will show you how to correct bad behaviors and reward good behaviors. We encourage the use of gentle leaders which are available for sale at our store. Prong collars are allowed if that is deemed the best option for your dog by the trainer.

Clicker Training
Clicker training is a term used to describe a way of training animals that has become increasingly popular in the last decade because of its gentle methods. Clicker training is the process of training an animal using a conditioned reinforcer, which indicates/marks to the animal the precise behavior that was correct. It was originally used in training animals such as dolphins and pigeons, for which traditional methods of obedience training aren't useful. Although it is a form of operant conditioning, the more popular name "clicker training" comes from the fact that the conditioned reinforcer used by many dog trainers is a small mechanical noisemaker called a clicker.

The Clicker is a small plastic box with a metal strip that makes a sharp, clicking sound when pushed and released. Its value is that the unique sound doesn't get lost in the babble of words we are constantly throwing at our dogs. It is faster than saying "Good dog!" and allows the trainer to mark with great precision the behavior for which the dog is being reinforced. Paired with something the animal finds very reinforcing, the clicker becomes a powerful tool for shaping behavior
